Inspired by: Self-replicating Von Neumann probes that explore and convert the universe

Concept

In the game, probes replicate themselves to scale across the universe. We just manually provisioned Bezalel — but what if Timmy could do it autonomously?

Build the Von Neumann Protocol:

  • Given a DO API token and a wizard template, provision a new VPS wizard
  • Clone hermes-agent, configure identity, set up systemd, DNS, SSL
  • The new wizard comes online and starts processing issues
  • Uses the vps-wizard-provisioning skill as the template

Acceptance Criteria

  • hermes cron or script that can provision a new wizard given: name, size, region
  • New wizard auto-registers in fleet roster
  • New wizard starts processing Gitea issues within 30 min of creation
  • Can be triggered by Alexander saying "spin up a new wizard"
  • Fleet auto-scales: if backlog > threshold AND budget allows, suggest new wizard

For us: each new wizard costs ~$12/mo. The question is ROI.
