New mobile operators currently lose onboarding guidance as soon as Today starts. Carry the account-bound guide through the first successful Done for Today outcome so the product teaches an accomplished work loop, not merely activation.

Acceptance criteria

  • Starting an active Today session transitions first-task onboarding into a compact, non-blocking coach in the mobile Today HUD; it does not mark onboarding complete.
  • The coach identifies the next action and remains account-bound across reloads.
  • A successful Done for Today action marks onboarding complete exactly once and shows a brief success receipt; a failed Today update does neither.
  • The coach and receipt stay inert/hidden outside phone layouts and do not obstruct Today controls.
  • Behavioral controller, integration, and packaged mobile browser tests cover activation, reload/account isolation, successful outcome, failure, and phone rendering.

Non-duplication evidence

Historical title review found #1140/#1141 (guide activation) and #1144/#1145 (finish onboarding when Today starts). This issue begins at that shipped boundary and changes completion to require the first successful Today outcome. No open issue or recent commit implements outcome-based first-task completion.
