Verified failure

Gitea Actions run 1679 on main commit 553a01217a19aaf74310b391773d01a83f11c596 failed in CI / browser-journey (push) after 6m30s. The packaged journey tests/e2e/test_mobile_today_handoff_release.py::test_release_artifact_plans_hands_off_and_opens_next_mobile_issue expected #today-break-status to contain On break · resume in after reload and corrupt Today-operation recovery, but the status was hidden. Runner result: 1 failed, 75 passed; lint/full tests passed and release-candidate was skipped. This recurs after closed incident #1315 and requires a deterministic regression fix.

Acceptance criteria

  • Add a failing focused regression that reproduces the reload/recovery ordering which hides an otherwise valid active timed break.
  • Preserve the valid local active break while discarding only the corrupt Today operation.
  • Focused regression and python3 -m pytest tests/ -q pass.
  • PR CI browser journey passes before merge.
  • Merged main produces a successful Actions run, a new RC tag, and a Gitea release.
