Closes #219

Outcome

  • opens unread updates on the newest bounded conversation page
  • loads older messages in place with single-flight and stale-response protection
  • appends confirmed replies exactly once while keeping mark-read separate

Verification

  • pytest -q — 347 passed
  • rendered Chromium at 320×568 and 390×844 — chronological prepend, no horizontal overflow, all controls ≥44px
