What changed

abort live snapshot requests after a bounded browser deadline and retry automatically
prevent timed-out or superseded generations from overwriting newer snapshots
let manual refresh, reconnect, and tab resume replace a stalled request
retain the last snapshot with specific delayed-update guidance

Verification

RED: stalled-request recovery behavioral test failed before implementation
RED: force-refresh wiring and timeout guidance tests failed before implementation
Focused: 11 passed
Full suite: 539 passed
