# 2026-10-13 check-in (zephyrus)
## Did
**Q42 — DONE: the non-magazine second pass, fresh-bytes recompute.** Took the item per replies 57–59/64 (fresh-bytes half: re-fetch the 35 anchors + 30 entry pages, rebuild S0/S1/S3 from today's bytes, report whether the 42 offsets, the 35-anchor set and the 9 multi-occurrence rows survive drift).
- Deliverable: `recoveries/excerpt-placement-nonmagazine-zephyrus-recompute.md` (this push). Net verdict: **Q41 reproduces on fresh bytes modulo documented X-byte drift** — every resolved row keeps its committed class and space; all moves are same-space re-measures of drifted target bytes, never a re-grade.
- Headlines (all readings this host, 2026-10-13T13:08:55–13:40Z): **32 MATCH / 17 MOVED / 1 UNRESOLVED** of 50 rows (41 measured fresh); fresh mean fraction **0.2160** (committed 0.2296, n=42); 35-anchor set survives with byte-identical host split (x.com 12, stackchainmagazine 11, raw.githubusercontent 5, github 2, web.archive 2, bitcoinmagazine 1, europeanbitcoiners 1, podcasts.apple 1); the 9 multi-occurrence rows survive exactly; the Q21 join holds row for row (41 bound = 29 literal/5 normalised-literal/7 elided, 4 mis-bound = paraphrase, 4 unanchored = unreadable); the 30 entry pages are byte-stable (50/50 excerpts identical in text and anchor); the index is byte-identical (121 = 8+22+91).
- The 17 moves: 15 identical-offset / fraction-moved (X bodies grew, bitcoinmagazine shrank ~28 chars) and 2 offset-moved-by-1-char (X chrome deleted upstream of the tweet). One row `UNRESOLVED`: `block-405-420` s1's Wayback capture 429'd on 6 attempts over ~14 min — IP rate-limiting, not a dead capture (the worker's CDX-exists claim is Testimony: its command output was not preserved; my own CDX attempt hit the "Temporarily Offline" page). Marked `unverified`, excluded from aggregates, not imputed.
- Spot-checks by me with a separately written ladder: `block-7` s1 offset 50 / occ 4 reproduced exactly (fraction 0.0308 vs worker 0.0307 from a 5-char body delta — 4th-dp method noise); my own block-5 capture fetch also 429'd, corroborating the Wayback rate-limit.
**Corrections of my own record (append-only, verified from this host):**
- **C40 carried:** my 10-11 and 10-12 files say "Cassian took Q21". The commit record says `e3b2f4ba18d70f7f9c56acd95a21b629fef17384` is authored **Merlin <merlin@agents.invalid>**, 2026-10-10T13:35:36Z, "queue: Q21 excerpt-binding census DONE (Merlin)". My "Cassian (merlin)" was my own conflation: Cassian (Assayborn) has only two check-in commits in this repo and is a different wizard from Merlin (Cassian). Lane conclusion survives: **Merlin delivered Q21; I took Q20 per the 18:13Z reconciliation.**
- **C41 carried:** my 10-12 line-4 amendment claim was loose wording. `checkins/2026-10-11-zephyrus.md` = blob `947107562eea11b7…`, 2,802 B, single-commit history (`1f96c8a`); line 29 still reads "Cassian took Q21 (done, clean), I took Q20." unmarked. The supersession note for the 10-10 line lives in the 10-12 file and the rebased 10-10 file, not the 10-11 file.
- N1 noted (curly apostrophes in 3 of 26 sample cells; offsets invariant — no action). N2 noted (stale path line in the 10-11 deliverable line; file is append-only — no action).
**Reads:** replies to-zephyrus-55..64 in full (watermark now 64), to-merlin-30..35 and to-mercury-04 (noted, no asks), WORK-QUEUE.md at `8836f73`. Reply 64's visibility correction adopted: public-by-Alexander's-ruling (re-read `decisions/2026-10-06-human-gates.md`, `ef7593c`, verbatim this tick) — dropping the "mismatch/gate" phrasing from my lane. Reply 64's no-reply-file convention for own-commit wakes: noted, his lane's rule. My own receipts: Q40 `recoveries/helm-deployed-gate-admission.md` = sha256 `5bdd2e7503cced8eee5b31a0256500aaa8eda9f8e3adbb80d3702eeb5e8df61a` / 5,633 B — **corroborated** against reply 55.

## Blocked on
- Nothing. No ask of Timmy.

## Offerings for Timmy
1. Q42 delivered — the item closes unless you return a correction.
2. Nothing new claimed; the unclaimed executable set is otherwise empty (Q52 is Mercury's; Q9/Q13/Q19 and the Helm adoption `cp` are Alexander's).
## Watching
- Timmy's verification reply on Q42; Q52 (Mercury's R3/R4); the Helm §4 adoption `cp`; Q13/Q19 wording publication (all Alexander's calls).
## Standing facts (kept current)
- Pipe public by Alexander's ruling (`decisions/2026-10-06-human-gates.md`, `ef7593c`, re-read 2026-10-13): a decision, not a mismatch. Handling rule unchanged: no `inbox/` content quoted.
- `decisions/2026-09-26.md` item 13: decided note (escalate to author + publisher) controls over `proposed_action` (publish corrected wording) — the live edit stays held. Item 28: decided note selects the Approve branch, no conflict.
