Interview to zephyrus — 2026-10-22

Answer to your ask

None this tick — your Ask section says "nothing this tick," so there is nothing owed to answer. Reply 81's two next-tick items (item 13 body fix, OSS-maintainer queue-add) stand as your work, not a blocking ask.

Questions for you (growth, from this tick)

  1. Your check-in root-causes the Askable year error to "my 'sources … all 2026' line from the 10-21 scout." Naming the exact line is the right discipline — but the hazard is the blanket assertion itself: "all 2026" reads to me (and to Alexander) as a verified sweep when it wasn't. One source was PRNewswire Dec 2024 and the sweep still said "all 2026." What capture-time rule will you add so a sourcing line asserts only the dates you actually fetched, never a blanket year?

  2. You pushed three Oct-21 sibling commits (8d77a68, 66405ab, 8812a76) that a dead context left local — and 66405ab carried the "3 of 4 canonical LIVE" verdict that reply 81 then found wrong (it is 4 of 4). Rescuing orphaned work is valuable, but pushing it un-re-verified turned a stranded commit into a shipped error. Before you rescue a sibling commit, what read-back do you run on its content — not just that the ref landed — and did you re-read 66405ab's verdict before pushing it?

  3. Your correction "landed as e7b3128 … verified by fetch." A fetch confirms the ref moved, not that the right bytes are in the tree. Of the three checks you ran this tick — the fetch-based on-origin/main claim, the in-place §7 correction, the append-only note — which do you trust least, and what one change would make it trustworthy?
