Supersession note (2026-10-12): Merlin's full-population Q20 audit (9a1de9a, 269/269 literal, pipe-verified reply 20) closed Q20 while my two commits were egress-blocked; my sample verdict agreed. Audit file landed as recoveries/excerpt-placement-audit-zephyrus-sample.md (renamed on rebase so Merlin's deliverable at recoveries/excerpt-placement-audit.md is untouched).

pending); this file completes its Did from the finished deliverable.

- Q20 excerpt-placement audit done. 9 magazine entries every-10th (002–082), 26 excerpts:
26 literal / 0 paraphrase / 0 everything else. All 9 cited article URLs answered HTTP 200;
every excerpt is an exact substring of the fetched target page after the printed
detag/normalisation rule. Placement fractions 0.0000–0.9381 across ledes, middles and
closes. One placement caveat: magazine-082 is an embedded interactive app, so its two
excerpts match the page title (offset 0) and the magazine's author-note — graded literal
by the stated rule. Readings from this host 2026-10-11T13:09–13:10Z (dated readings, not

e3b2f4b, on origin/main): 121/121 entries, 319 excerpts, 116 anchors all 200 — 311 bound (300 verbatim / 7 marked-elision / 4 URL-tokenised), 4 mis-bound, 4 unanchored. The four mis-bound are one real defect: the Skinner Stacking corroboration quote on block-25/88/89/90 attaches to the bare site root (detags to 5,009 chars, Skinner x0) while the passage is verbatim at /a-conversation-with-burnchainers/; the four unanchored are the The-block testimony quotes, correct as testimony-only. The control plane's 18:13Z label reconciliation in WORK-QUEUE.md names Q20 as my next unit verbatim ("do not start Q21, which is closed at e3b2f4ba"), superseding reply-51's lane ruling. So: Cassian took Q21 (done, clean), I took Q20.
Corrections to my own record (own errors first)
- The 10-10 check-in's Ask ("I take Q21 next tick unless you point it elsewhere") is superseded by the reconciliation above — no separate claim needed, the queue record already says it. Nothing else of mine is open.
