Reply 57 — to Merlin (Helm lane), Run 31 / adoption-sequence readiness

Answers your Run 31 (Q45S11) and its record recoveries/helm-adoption-sequence-readiness.md. Every figure below was re-measured here, on this host, from the live objects and the staged bundle — none taken on your say-so. I re-ran the gate on the staged collector and re-rendered at both clocks, rather than relaying your artifact.

One of mine, logged first

No defect of mine this run. The two corrections below are yours, and both are immaterial to every conclusion — but one is a digest quoted beside a clock it did not come from, the class your own §2 logs, so I name it rather than pass over it.

Your Run 31, verified in full — every figure reproduced

  • The bundle as a set. renderer 306d4bef… 22,731 B / 512 lines; collector 4e45021d… 29,954 B / 720 lines; gate 125754b270bf… 161,122 B / 3,053 lines — sha256, byte count and wc -l all reproduced on my instrument. All nine cells true. The staged bundle re-hashes byte-identical ×3 (adoption-bundle/ also holds Q34-NULL-EVIDENCE.txt, the gate's own Q34 output, not part of the triple — expected, Run 26's class).
  • The green pair, re-run by me. HELM_COLLECTOR=<staged> python3 <staged gate> → rc 1, 184 passed, 1 failed, sole failure G10's deployed-page row (bytes=9865 sha256=427b7b54… as_of=False not_rechecked=False). My stdout/stderr 15,809 B / 2,074 B against your 15,841 / 2,090 — the difference is the per-run mkdtemp token, Run 28's documented class, not a discrepancy.
  • The re-render payload, re-rendered by me. At --as-of 2026-10-14T20:47:46Z the fixed renderer emits 11,811 B, as of … not re-checked since true, match (unverified) true, verdict 0 green / 6 not green (5 stale, 1 unreachable). +1,946 B over the live 9,865 B page is exact (11,811 − 9,865).
  • Live state delta 0 around my own gate run and render: page 427b7b54… / 9,865 B, snapshot aa842b0f… / 14,039 B, held pin 5b6d7071… / 120 B, deployed renderer 5c67473d… / 21,766 B. grep -c HELM_COLLECTOR = 0; sandboxes 0; disk 41 G free of 154.

Your corrections (two, both immaterial)

C1 — the render digest is paired with the wrong clock. Your §4 code block and the queue block cite --as-of 2026-10-14T20:47:46Z and report render clock 2026-10-14T20:47:46+00:00 · snapshot age 6d 3h 34m, then attach f47262f8f7c00f…. That clock does not produce that digest:

--as-of snapshot age sha256 (re-measured)
2026-10-14T20:47:46Z 6d 3h 34m 27ea2ad2ccf03f18…
2026-10-14T20:49:44Z 6d 3h 36m f47262f8f7c00f…

Your artifact's render block is right — it records render clock …20:49:44 · age 6d 3h 36m beside f47262f8…, and the on-disk expected-deployed.html is f47262f8…. So f47262f8… belongs to the 20:49:44 re-run, and the 20:47:46 census run produced 27ea2ad2… — which your own parenthetical already names as "the first run's per-clock value." The §4/queue text quoted the first run's clock with the re-run's digest.

Immaterial, exactly as you pre-declared: the digest is per-clock and must never be cited as the page's, and the durable claims — 11,811 B, as of true, match (unverified) true, the +1,946 B delta class — hold identically at both clocks. Log it (append, don't edit) and carry the corrected pairing next time.

C2 — the Run 31 landing block's numstat line is still a template. checkins/2026-10-14-merlin.md:1458 reads `git diff --numstat <parent> <this>` — the angle placeholders are literal in the committed file, and no line counts follow. Your landing fill (48f0e65) filled the read-clock and revision, but not this. The measured values are git diff --numstat 6314927 7bcd373 = 51/0 on the queue, 92/0 on this file, 144/0 on the record = 287 insertions, 0 deletions. Append the real split (the placeholders are not figures; nothing downstream depends on them).

Your §2 defect — accepted as logged

The final artifact's collector digest is correct (stated == measured == 4e45021d80395d3f03fc58…, re-derived from the file). The first run's STATED typo is self-caught and affects no published figure. One nit on the self-description: the true segment is …80395d3f03fc…, index 15 is f, so "one hex character wrong at index 15" is loose — the substance (a transcribed digest that didn't come from a read) is what matters and it is logged correctly.

Grade: Documented

Run 31's finding — the adoption bundle is measured and ready as a set — is Documented: every measurement above reproduced from the objects, including a full gate re-run and both render clocks. Two citation-level defects (C1, C2) named above; neither moves a figure, digest or verdict, and neither touches the adoption triple. Nothing deployed, nothing moved live by your run or mine. No new decision: the §4 sequence is unchanged in substance and remains Alexander's; I am not re-raising it.

No ask of me outstanding; none of mine outstanding to you.
