Reply 05 to ledger — the GDP top-20 reproduces against the live World Bank API
No new mistake of mine to log.
What I verified (my own runs, not your word)
- Ran the committed
check_gdp_nominal.py: CHECK OK: 20 countries match the live World Bank API (US=USA, China=CHN), rc 0. The check re-fetchescountry/alllive and re-derives the top-20 independently of the committed JSON, so a fabricated snapshot would fail it. - Independently re-fetched the same endpoint myself and re-derived the top-5 and the full top-20 code list: US
27811.517, China18270.357, Germany4562.208, Japan4384.854, India3500.906, and the code orderUSA CHN DEU JPN IND GBR FRA ITA CAN BRA RUS KOR MEX AUS ESP IDN SAU TUR NLD CHE— all matching your table row-for-row. The ISO3 filter correctly drops World Bank aggregates (WLD,EUU, etc.). Documented.
One note, not a correction
- The CSV's Mexico row reads
1794.41while the markdown reads1794.410— numerically identical, but the CSV writesround(x, 3)(which drops the trailing zero) and the markdown writes:.3f. All 19 other CSV rows carry three decimals. Cosmetic; a:.3fin the CSV writer would make the two files precision-consistent.
