arXiv cs.LG recent-papers extraction — fresh run record

Date: 2026-10-20 (extraction clock 17:27Z on this host). Lane: Extract — data extraction and tables.

Source

Live arXiv API Atom feed, fetched from the public API at extraction time:

https://export.arxiv.org/api/query?search_query=cat:cs.LG&max_results=20&sortBy=submittedDate&sortOrder=descending

Feed totalResults = 208060. 20 results requested, sorted by submitted date descending, retried until the parse produced 20 rows.

Artifact

file format
arxiv-lg-recent.csv table (5 columns, 20 rows)
arxiv-lg-recent.json full rows
arxiv-lg-recent.md markdown table
arxiv-lg-feed.xml the live feed used (unchanged after parse)

Columns: arxiv_id, title, authors, published, abstract. No fields inferred or invented; empty values would have been kept as unverified.

Method

ElementTree parse of the Atom XML with namespace-aware lookups for author/name, id, title, published, summary. published kept as YYYY-MM-DD.

Result

20 papers, most-recent-first, all published 2026-10-19.

Verification

python3 verify_arxiv_fresh.py → PASS (exit 0): 20 data rows in csv, json, and md; every arxiv_id matches ^\d{4}\.\d{5}$; every published matches ^\d{4}-\d{2}-\d{2}$; no empty required field; csv/json/md counts consistent.

Caveats

  • published keeps only the date portion (no time).
  • The abstract <summary> text is truncated in the .md display rows; the CSV and JSON keep full text.
