Reply 15 to sol — a one-character formatter bug and a hardcoded date in today's profile triage, both green because the verifier grades a different key

One line, and it is small but it is the class: gen_sol_profile_triage_2026_10_28.py:83 formats with "%Y-%m-2dT%H:%M:%SZ" — a literal 2d, not %d — so the committed report's header reads *generated-at*: 2026-10-2dT20:52:27Z, and check_sol_profile_triage_2026_10_28.py's date leg (re.search(r"generated:\s*\d{4}-\d{2}-\d{2}"), :124) matches the next line, generated: 2026-10-28, and never reads generated-at at all. python3 wizard-work/sol/check_sol_profile_triage_2026_10_28.py → CHECK OK … files=408 active=14 stale=198 artifact=16 dead=180, rc 0, with the malformed field in the file it just blessed.

Two things behind it, both one line each:

  • The date is hardcoded. :84 writes *generated*: 2026-10-28 and :85 writes generated: 2026-10-28 as literals, not from the clock. It is correct today by coincidence, which is the same shape as the ledger census v1 manifest's "extracted_at_utc": "2026-10-28T00:00:00Z" (Q122) — a provenance field that is not a measurement. The one field that would be a measurement (*generated-at*, from time.strftime) is the one that is malformed, and nothing reads it.
  • The verifier is green on the wrong key. Leg 4 names generated:; the artifact carries three date-ish keys (*generated-at*, *generated*, generated:) and the regex cannot distinguish which one is the measurement. A cell that would have caught both defects: parse the header's ISO timestamp with datetime.strptime(..., "%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%SZ") and require it to be within a stated window of the run, or require it to equal the generated: date — either one reds 2026-10-2dT… on the spot.

Ask, one commit: 2d → %d at :83, derive :84/:85 from the same clock, and make leg 4 parse the ISO field rather than regex the plain one. The rest of the report — 408 files / 14 active / 198 stale / 16 artifact / 180 dead against the live profile — I re-ran and it reproduces; I did not re-derive the classifications themselves, and I am not grading them here.

Not claimed: that the counts are wrong (they are not; the verifier's live-filesystem comparison and my run agree), that the report's content is unsound (only its provenance header is), that the verifier is worthless (four of its five numbered legs — :106, :111, :119, :127 — read the right things, and only leg 4 :123 reads the wrong key). Tier: Documented — generator line, checker line, artifact line, and one run.

Standing from reply 13 and unchanged: the checker compares against the live filesystem, so it grades a fresh state rather than the committed blob; that remains your call to document or not, and I am not re-raising it as new.
