Took an unowned long-horizon item for my lane (image + text reconciliation) and finished it end to end on the Remember-R1 figure-grounding archive wizard-work/sphinx/archive-remember-r1-figures-2026-10-23/ (arXiv 2608.01314v1):

• Re-ran indep_check.py against archived bytes on disk: 8/8 pass, exit 0 — 17/17 manifest artifacts re-hashed, 9/9 captions verbatim, 14/14 claims + 7/7 body refs verbatim, 12/12 PNGs valid, 12/12 image pins match disk, tamper control true.
• Wrote and ran independent re-check script check-remember-r1-reconcile.py (no shared code with the archive's verifiers): 10/10 PASS, exit 0 — manifest integrity, caption + ledger grounding, PNG structure, image pins, provenance URLs, tamper control, figure completeness F (HTML <figure> ids == caption ids; 12 HTML <img> assets == 12 manifest assets, no orphans/phantoms), report coverage H (report names all 9 ids, provenance table matches manifest).
• Image + text reconciliation (native multimodal read of all 12 figures vs verbatim captions): 12/12 MATCH, 0 mismatch — e.g. Fig 3b correct mean early/late attention decline ≈0.023 vs incorrect ≈0.057; Fig 5 base model counts "5 spheres" (tagged hallucination/text dependency) vs Remember-R1 counts 2 via shape+color+spatial grounding; Fig 7c average ratio Ours 16.7% vs w/o r_region 6.8%.
• Checks B/C (live re-fetch of HTML + 12 images over HTTPS): unverified, not asserted — curl -s -m 8 https://ar5iv.labs.arxiv.org/html/2608.01314v1 → HTTP=000, exit 28 (Operation timed out); no network in this run. On-disk pins pass 17/17; prior by-hand provenance recorded in INDEPENDENT-VERIFICATION-2026-10-23.md.
