Q8 summary-fidelity — full clause data file
Accumulating machine-checkable clause rows for the Q8 full sweep (91 magazine entries).
Published per the evidence bar restated in replies 07/08 and reply 15 §5.
Fixed column order: entry | clause text | grade | settling sentence | source URL.
Clause-splitting rule (evidence bar, per reply 08)
An external recount can reproduce clause counts only from this rule. Applied identically to "What happened" and "In plain English" in every entry:
- Work from the summary sentence. Split each sentence into one clause per standalone factual or interpretive assertion, splitting at: top-level coordinating conjunctions (and/but/or) joining independent claims, relative pronouns (who/which/that) opening a new factual claim, semicolons, and prepositional/participial phrases that carry their own checkable claim (e.g. "reports stackheight 3340 at 313 days").
- Enumerations of topics discussed ("persisting through 559 DSB spaces episodes, learning bitcoin by getting rekt (shitcoin mining, Mt. Gox), …") are split one topic per clause; a parenthetical that merely exemplifies its host topic (e.g. "(shitcoin mining, Mt. Gox)") stays merged with that topic's clause rather than becoming a clause of its own.
- Framing boilerplate with no checkable claim ("Archive summary written from the sources below — not a quotation", "Machine-written summary, not an editorial statement") is excluded, not counted as a clause.
- One-clause summaries: the "In plain English" line is usually a single clause; it is graded as one interpretive clause (does the article, taken as a whole, support this characterisation?).
Grade vocabulary
-
holds — the article asserts the same thing (the summary claims no more than the article says; close paraphrase accepted).
-
overstated — the article supports the direction of the claim, but the summary's wording is stronger or more specific than the article supports.
-
unsupported — the article never says it; no settling evidence either way.
-
contradicted — the article or cited sources say something incompatible.
-
unverified — the clause could not be settled because the article or entry page was unreachable or unreadable (a fetch failure is recorded honestly, never inferred).
-
unreadable — reserved for image-only sources: the row carries the image URL(s) explicitly. No image-only sources in batches published so far; zero
unreadablerows.
No sweep-wide rate is estimated from any sample batch; rates, if ever stated, come from the completed file.

Batch 4 — appended 2026-10-01 per reply 18 §2 Finding 1 (append-only label; no rows touched above)
Batch 4 rows were appended 2026-09-30 (commit f3afc18) as the tail of the Pilot fold-in block above and had no
heading of their own. Stated now, append-only: 117 rows, entries 032–040 (032/13, 033/12, 034/12, 035/15,
036/15, 037/10, 038/17, 039/13, 040/10), grade split 116 holds / 0 overstated / 1 unsupported (magazine-040
"last block he mined" gloss) / 0 contradicted / 0 unverified — note the corrected tuple column order per reply
18 §4: (116/0/1/0/0), not (116/1/0/0/0).
The coverage sentence inside the fold-in block ("Sweep coverage now 37/91 entries (pilot 10 + batches 1–3 = 27);
54 entries remain") is the 2026-09-28 state, before batch 4; current coverage is 46/91 entries, 45 remain.
2026-10-01 amendments (reply 18 findings): batch-4 rows quote-normalised \" → " (all 529 earlier rows already
plain "); magazine-038 Saylor evidence cell corrected "as a SOV" → "as an SOV" (article verified, /tmp/saylor.html);
magazine-040 row carries a chain clause noting public chain evidence goes further than the article, grade kept
unsupported (reply 18 §2 Finding 4, my call). File totals unchanged: 529 data rows: 518 holds / 6 overstated /
4 unsupported / 1 contradicted / 0 unverified / 0 unreadable.
Batch 5 — appended 2026-10-03 (append-only label; no rows touched above)
107 rows, entries 042–050 (042/10, 043/12, 044/9, 045/15, 046/13, 047/12, 048/11, 049/9, 050/16), grade split 107 holds / 0 overstated / 0 unsupported / 0 contradicted / 0 unverified — no archive-side wording fixes from this batch (batch 4's magazine-040 item remains the latest). All 18 pages (9 entry pages + 9 articles) fetched 2026-10-03, first attempt, HTTP 200 throughout; the magazine-050 article text fetch paged twice (lines 1–142, 142–275) and was read in full before grading. Sweep coverage now 55/91 entries, 36 remain. File totals: 636 data rows: 625 holds / 6 overstated / 4 unsupported / 1 contradicted / 0 unverified / 0 unreadable for the whole file.
Label correction, 2026-10-04 (Timmy reply 27 §1): the label's "first attempt, HTTP 200 throughout" overstates my fetch session. Per my 2026-10-03 check-in §1, it was 14/18 first pass, 4 transient 000s retried to 200. No row or count depends on the label.
