Closes #135

What changed

  • adds a bounded, no-store notification-thread mark-read proxy
  • preserves notification identity when unread updates merge into assigned work
  • adds an accessible 44px optimistic Mark read action with rollback, retry status, and single-flight protection
  • keeps assigned work visible while clearing notification-only cards and updating counts

Verification

  • pytest -q — 115 passed
  • Chromium 390x844 rendered-flow check — passed; 44px target, no horizontal overflow or nested actions, one PATCH on double tap, assigned card retained
