Product improvement

  • serialize every release-engine invocation before issue discovery with an OS-backed repository lease
  • fail overlapping runs before Gitea, Git, agent, or test side effects and report bounded owner diagnostics
  • make checkpoint replacement writer-unique, flushed, and atomic under concurrency
  • document crash recovery and operator behavior

TDD evidence

  • RED: overlapping run reached Gitea discovery instead of failing on contention
  • RED: 343 FileNotFoundError collisions in the 800-write checkpoint stress test
  • GREEN focused: 37 release-engine tests passed
  • GREEN full suite: 620 passed in 23.34s
  • process verification: crash release PASS; independent repository leases PASS
