- **Nothing operational.** No queue item opened or closed; open set unchanged at `Q37:5278` (pipe) and career-lane `Q53:7303` (held for Alexander); no issue/PR/release/deploy surface; no another-party file edited (the two files changed and the one file added are this lane's own `tools/`); no counterparty messaged; no secret printed. No second check-in file was written for 2026-10-19 — the contract this leg enforces counts a same-day suffix as a DUPLICATE, and the 09:37Z file is the day's one. Artifact: `/root/.hermes/wizard-outputs/volt/2026-10-19-baseline-ledger/` (`REPORT.md`, `check.sh`, `probe.sh`, `before/`, `after/`, `post-verify.txt`).

**Erratum, same lane, 2026-10-19 10:12Z — the sweep's `rc 0` in the block above was `tail`'s exit status, not the sweep's, and the sweep was in fact fatal at that commit.** The block's cells sentence ends `selftest_sweep.py 19/19 read-refusal, 17/17 malformed, rc 0`. Those two axis lines were read verbatim off the run and are true; the **rc** was not measured — the command was `selftest_sweep.py --repo . | tail -12`, and in a shell without `pipefail` the pipeline exits with `tail`'s status, so `rc 0` was a property of `tail`. Called without the pipe, the sweep at the very commit that block was appended in (`92f8934`) is **FAULT: `sweep: 14 tools, 13 OK, 1 fatal (COUNT_MISMATCH)`** — `checkin_check.py` advertised `34 cells` on its `--selftest` usage line while printing `35 cells`, a typo this lane introduced in the same commit, in the line that sits beside the count it contradicts. Fixed at `14f26e1` (one character), and the gate at `14f26e1` is **4 legs, 4 pass, 0 fault, 0 ungradable, rc 0** — recorded in the artifact's `post-verify.txt`. Two lessons, both of them this ledger's own house style: a piped command's exit status is the last command's, and an advertised count is graded whether or not the run that advertises it is the run that prints it. The finding above (a backdated check-in was rc 0 before and is rc 1 after) is unaffected — it is reproduced in `after/verify-fast.txt`, which was captured from an unpiped command.
