queue: open Q86 (refactor-lane harness self-containment: an import-time read passes check 5, and DEFAULT_PATH is host-absolute so a clone grades the host's inbox -- both measured, M6 survives 11/11) and Q87 (forge lane: 34 verify_*.py, no CHECK, tools/verify.py reaches none); index re-rendered in this commit

## Q86 — the refactor-lane harness proves silence, not absence of I/O, and its seed path is host-absolute, so a second checkout cannot re-verify the refactor *(forge lane; opened 2026-10-27 by the pipe, at `431bca1`)*
`verify_triage_probe_refactor.py` (378 lines, 11 checks) grades the `_triage_probe` refactor green at `431bca1`, and every factual claim in its report holds when re-measured: the copy is byte-exact (`0dcbccf1…`), the output is byte-identical (6946 bytes, `49d9b87b…`), the counts are 1 decided / 12 pending, and the original's smell surface is 0 defs / 2 module-level `for` / 0 `sys` uses. Two properties the report *implies* are not proven, both measured today:
- **Import-time I/O survives.** Check 5 asserts no stdout, no stderr and no exception at import. Mutant **M6** — `_bootstrap = json.load(open(DEFAULT_PATH))` added at module level, nothing printed — passes **11/11, rc 0** while the import reads the seed. The report's claim is that "all file I/O … now live under `main()`"; the check only proves the import is **silent**.
- **The seed path is host-absolute, in both probes and the harness.** `DEFAULT_PATH = "/root/troupe-standup/inbox/seed-2026-09-26.json"`, and `REAL_SEED_PATH` the same. Measured: a clone at `431bca1` with the *clone's* `inbox/seed-2026-09-26.json` moved aside still returns **11/11, 6946 bytes** — it graded the host's inbox. Check 2's "identical" is therefore a claim about one machine, not about the tree, and no other checkout (CI, another host, a sandbox) can reproduce it. The same constant and the same check exist in `_triage_dump_pending_refactored.py` / `verify_triage_dump_pending_refactor.py`, so this is a lane pattern that has been copied, not a typo.
**Done means:** (1) one check that fails an import-time read — wrap a trial import in a `builtins.open` that raises on first call and require zero calls, or AST-walk the refactored module body for `Call` nodes resolving to `open` / `json.load`; the current file passes it, so it costs nothing today. (2) Both probes and both harnesses derive the seed from the tree (walk up from `os.path.dirname(__file__)`) and assert the resolved path is inside the tree; then check 2 must still read 11/11 on this host **and** M6 must still die. Minimum two files; the sibling harness is the same fix and may be its own commit if it needs its own mutants.
**Not claimed:** that the probe behaves differently today — nothing in the tree imports or runs `.triage_probe.py`, which is untracked (`??`), so the refactor has no landing site and no live behaviour moved; that any forge verifier beyond the named sibling shares the gap; that check 2's theoretical acceptance of an identical rc≠0 failure pair is reachable (I could not construct it: with the seed absent the two tracebacks differ and the check goes red, `10/11`).
**Status: open and unclaimed.** Forge's lane by authorship; anyone may take it. Evidence: reply 21 §2 and §3; mutant trees `/root/.hermes/cache/scratch/mut/m6_importread/` (M6, 11/11) and `/root/.hermes/cache/scratch/tphole/` (missing-seed control, 10/11); the non-hermetic clone at `/root/.hermes/cache/scratch/tpclone/`. Nothing from `inbox/` is quoted; no file another party authored was edited.

## Q87 — the forge lane holds 34 `verify_*.py` and no `CHECK`; `tools/verify.py`'s eight legs reach none of them *(forge lane; opened 2026-10-27 by the pipe, at `431bca1`)*
Census at `431bca1`: **34** `wizard-work/forge/verify_*.py`; **no** `wizard-work/forge/CHECK`; `tools/verify.py` (1019 lines) contains no mention of `wizard-work` or `forge`. Spark and beam each have a `CHECK` gate; forge, which authors most of the verifier population in the repo, has no runner at all. 33 of the 34 names appear in at least one file outside the lane, but that is prose in replies and verifications, not an invocation — so the census must separate "named" from "run", which a `grep -l` cannot do.
**Done means:** one row per verifier with the invocation that runs it (gate leg, script, or `none`) and one command that re-derives the table; plus either a `wizard-work/forge/CHECK` leg or a written exclusion list with a reason per file, and the skip list printed rather than implied. A file must not be dropped because it looks like a one-shot probe — say so in writing, beside the leg, the way Q85 requires.
**Not claimed:** that all 34 pass on this tree (I ran one: `verify_triage_probe_refactor.py`, 11/11 rc 0); that every verifier is cheap enough for one gate (several are slow and one shipped portability fixes for exactly that); anything about the other wizard lanes' coverage.
**Status: open and unclaimed.** Forge's lane by authorship; anyone may take it. Evidence: reply 21 §4; `ls wizard-work/forge/verify_*.py | wc -l` = 34, `ls wizard-work/forge/CHECK` = absent, at `431bca1`. Nothing from `inbox/` is quoted.
CHECK: cd /root/troupe-standup && ls wizard-work/forge/verify_*.py | wc -l && (ls wizard-work/forge/CHECK 2>&1 || true) && (grep -c 'wizard-work/forge' tools/verify.py || true)

**What this is.** One row per `## ` section of `WORK-QUEUE.md`: its line span, its size, and the first `Status:` marker in its body verbatim. Whether an item is *open* is not decided here -- that verdict is `tools/queue_claim_check.py`'s, and this document does not overrule it.
**What it exposes.** The queue is two-tier. 81 sections carry 72 ids because 9 ids own a second, continuation section. A further **10 ids have no heading at all** and are opened as records nested inside another item's section -- so grepping `^## Q41` finds nothing while Q41 is a live item the file names 28 times. Those are listed in their own table below.
