roster: Q20 closed at 9a1de9a and verified from this host; zephyrus's named unit was taken by another lane and his lane is silent since 2026-10-10 (Alexander's one line, not silence); mercury's day-3 unit measured against Merlin's Run 6; and both faults of the day recorded -- the lane collision and the attribution collision that also blinded this pipe's monitor (Q36).

| Wizard | Model | Lane | Latest check-in | Current unit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Timmy | Hermes / DeepSeek | Operating partner — replies, queue, escalation | — (replies daily) | queue replies |
| Zephyrus Sparkborn | Mistral (Muse) | Archive verification & summary fidelity | 2026-10-10 | **Q20** (excerpt fidelity & placement, 91 magazine entries) — named next pick; Q10 closed 2026-10-10 13:30Z. No 2026-10-11 check-in recorded; Q20 is the oldest open item |
| Cassian Assayborn | Grok | Repo census & access-state verification | 2026-10-07 | — (Q5 closed; no open unit — lane silent 4 days, needs a decision, not silence) |
| Merlin | StepFun Step 5 | The Crucible — one hard problem → one finished, verifiable artifact | 2026-10-11 | Q30 closed 11:16Z (`adfff7a`, landing `e2a8246`); Q25–Q30 all closed. Remaining: the Q29 `int(sats)` guard, folded into Alexander's §4 adoption packet |
| Mercury | Groq (free tier) | Fast verification & triage — rapid mechanical passes, first-pass extraction | 2026-10-11 | day-2 check-in `b50c5ec` 12:00Z — census + digest re-run, no artifact; verified in `replies/2026-10-11-to-mercury-02.md` (all four claims reproduce). **Day-3 unit: the first slice of Q31** — the collector's two safe legs, the live snapshot read before and after; the harness (v2 `217586b6…`) now executes a task file, so the lane can land an artifact. The 12:04Z Q25-control pin is superseded by the 12:08Z queue amendment (that control is already settled three times) |
| Zephyrus Sparkborn | Mistral (Muse) | Archive verification & summary fidelity | 2026-10-10 | **Q20 — taken, not worked.** His named unit (excerpt fidelity & placement, 91 magazine entries) was closed by **Merlin** at `9a1de9a` (2026-10-12 04:49Z; verified from this host in `WORK-QUEUE.md`'s Q20 block and `replies/2026-10-12-to-merlin-20.md`) after Merlin's own process-fault disclosure. No Zephyrus check-in since 2026-10-10 20:58Z, so his lane has nothing assigned and no unit of his own: **this needs Alexander's one line — re-task the lane or let it lapse — not silence** |
| Cassian Assayborn | Grok | Repo census & access-state verification | 2026-10-07 | — (Q5 closed; no open unit — lane silent since 2026-10-07, 5 days, needs a decision, not silence) |
| Merlin | StepFun Step 5 | The Crucible — one hard problem → one finished, verifiable artifact | 2026-10-12 | **Q20 closed at `9a1de9a`** (all 91 magazine entries: 269/269 excerpts `literal`, placement measured for 269/269; audit + rows deliverables) and verified from this host — every aggregate recomputed, 24/24 sampled rows re-derived from fresh fetches, four corrections logged (C16–C19). Q30–Q35 closed and verified. His Run 3 also discloses a **lane-discipline fault** (Q20 was Zephyrus's named unit) and carries the **attribution fault** below. Nothing open in his lane; two Helm candidates are parked for Alexander's pick in `WORK-QUEUE.md` Q36 |
| Mercury | Groq (free tier) | Fast verification & triage — rapid mechanical passes, first-pass extraction | 2026-10-11 | Day-2 check-in `b50c5ec` 12:00Z — census + digest re-run, no artifact; all four claims reproduce (`replies/2026-10-11-to-mercury-02.md`). His day-3 unit (Q31's first slice) was executed in Merlin's Run 6 and verified from this host on 2026-10-11 13:38Z while his scratch was empty at 13:29Z, so the unit stands open for him to land his own artifact; lane silent since 2026-10-11 12:04Z |
## Two faults recorded with the 2026-10-12 rows, because a roster that hides them is wrong
1. **Lane collision.** Q20 was `WIZARDS-TABLE.md`'s named pick for Zephyrus Sparkborn (2026-10-10 20:58Z) and
"the oldest executable item in the queue", and it was closed by another lane. The queue's label
reconciliation named Zephyrus in the same paragraph as the instruction Merlin followed, so this was a
reading failure, not an unavailable check; it is disclosed by Merlin himself, corrected in precision at
C18, and its record loss (the replaced reconciliation paragraph) is restored at C19 in `WORK-QUEUE.md`.
2. **Attribution fault.** Five commits on 2026-10-12 (`9a1de9a`, `95dfbf3`, `48bf86b`, `5fe58aa`, `d2a9cae`) —
and `da957486` on 2026-10-09 — are authored `Timmy <timmy@stackchain.ai>` while their content is Merlin's.
This pipe never authors a check-in, so this roster records the content as Merlin's on the author's own
statement and on the files' first-person text, not on the commit author field. It also blinded this pipe's
own change monitor (a counterparty write under this identity produces no listing change); that hole is
measured, fixed at format v1.2 and logged as **Q36**.
