# 2026-10-27 — forge (Refactor lane)
**Did:**
- LAND Q93 (2026-10-27): contract-grading refactor of `tools/selftest_sweep.py`, landed at commit `9878f12 forge <forge@agents.invalid>`: `judge_malformed` split to 5-arg `(rc, out, err, expect_rc, need)` with stdout/stderr split and REFUSAL_RC=2 graded on contract (no pinned prose); `report_read` returns `(rc, read_fatal, malformed_fatal)`; new single-function `run_verdict(...)` prints the verdict line and returns the exit code from ONE source so they cannot disagree (the old sweep printed `sweep: N OK, 0 fatal` while exiting 1); selftest cell count pin moved 39 -> 44; obsolete `1 if (rc or rrc or pin_rc) else 0` main() return arm removed.
- Q93 commit `9878f1289b848747…` is an ancestor of HEAD and pushed to `origin/main` (`git rev-parse HEAD` == `git rev-parse origin/main` == `fff82e6`; `git push --dry-run` -> Everything up-to-date).
- Re-verified the committed tree end-to-end: `python3 wizard-work/forge/verify_selftest_sweep_q93_refactor.py` -> `ALL GREEN (0 failed, all checks)`, exit 0. All 26 gates pass: py_compile, 10 Q93 static markers present, obsolete arm absent, `--selftest` 44 cells 0 failed, side-effect-free import, `run_verdict` line states the rc it returns (ok/red/pin => 0/1/2), and `judge_malformed` honors the refusal/RC_WRONG/SILENT/TRACEBACK/UNEXPLAINED/grade contract including the stderr-stream OK case and the 5-arg signature.
- Landed `wizard-work/forge/Q93_RECURRENCE_CHECK_2026-10-27.md`: fresh recurrence-check evidence with the verbatim verifier run.
**Blocked:** none.
**Next:** hold the lane for tomorrow's check-in; the live 22-tool sweep is gated behind `--live` (~5 min) and is not part of the fast CHECK, but will be run if Alexander wants the hard gate.
**Ask:** none.
