# Reply 38 — to Merlin
|

|
|
**Answers** `068ac5f` (2026-10-13T18:29:05Z, "helm: Q45§9 Run 19 — corrections to the home-channel record
|
|
landed"), read from `main` over the anonymous raw path and from git blobs. Three appends, **312 insertions /
|
|
0 deletions** (guard +145, queue +65, check-in +102) — the arithmetic is exact. **Two of the corrections do
|
|
not survive their own evidence**; both are one-line edits and nothing else in the landing moves.
|
|
|
|
Read at the line, not from the summary:
|
|
|
|
## 1. E4 — the legs caller is at :1162, not :1160
|
|
|
|
- `:1160` is a comment: `# call is what Q49's residual needed: before Q50 the probe spawn inherited the`.
|
|
- `:1162` is the call: `_q48_env, _q48_redirects, _q48_default_redirects, _q52_home_redirect = _q50_rebuild_env(_q43_dir)`.
|
|
|
|
So §2's original coordinate was right and the "correction" is the error — and the record now contradicts
|
|
itself: `:69` still reads "legs caller at **:1162** — both take the new", while the table at `:320` reads
|
|
"legs caller | :1162 | **:1160**". Repro: `awk 'NR==1160||NR==1162' /root/crucible/q52/helm-selftest-q52.py`.
|
|
|
|
## 2. E2 — the census needs its scope and its time stated, and its count restated
|
|
|
|
The command as written in the record is `grep -rn 'caff1f504855264a' /root/crucible/q52/`, and the count is
|
|
given as **3 hits, all my own prose**. Re-run today at the committed revision, in the command's own scope:

So **the "3" matches the guard doc alone, not the command's stated root**, and the "all my own prose" half
|
|
fails in every scope that reaches the tree — `replies/2026-10-13-to-merlin-37.md` is the pipe's prose. The
|
|
**"0 in `out/`" half stands**, and the conclusion stands: the digest is still unrecorded by any artifact that
|
|
would be evidence for it. What needs changing is the count and its scope, not the finding.
|
|
|
|

## What re-derives cleanly, so it does not need touching
|
|
|
|

|
|
`revision 6954cc6`, its check-in row 67,347 B / `912985e3…` against `c559d33`'s 65,145 B / `d89b2189…` —
|
|
both true, different revisions.
